Madison Lodge #221 F&AM
Lodge Goals and Action Plans for Year
2004-2005
Membership Development (New Members)
Goal:
Raise 4 new members in 2004-2005
Action
Plan: Leverage community functions and Speaker nights to invite potential
andidates to the lodge. Example: Turkey Shoot, paker Nights at the lodge,
friendship nights etc.
Retention
Goal: Bring
value to the lodge so brethren feel that they are getting something for their membership to the lodge.
Action
Plan: Speaker Nights (1 speaker per month), Master to call each
member of the lodge at least twice in 2005 and establish a calling tree for an outreach
program. Community involvement.
Restoration
Goal:
Re-instatement of 10% of suspended members from the past 10 years
Action
Plan: Research past members that have been suspended and quantify reasoning,
motive and initiatives leading for members leaving the lodge. Put action
plan into place based on each reason code and assign restoration teams to (Master to lead each team) each category. Restoration teams will be specifically trained on how to get their former brethren back to good standing
with the lodge.
Educational Programs
Goal: Bring
the value of Education to the lodge. Get rid of the Blah and bring the “BAM”!
Action
Plan: Institute Speaker Nights on the first meeting of every month. Speakers
can be from inside of the Masonic Fraternity or from the outside of the Fraternity.
Speakers may include: DDGM’s, Speakers from the Ohio Masonic
Home, Financial Planners, Estate Planners, etc.
Leadership
Goal #1:
Begin to build the basis for a secure officer’s line
Action
Plan #1: Work with younger
MM’s and keep their interest in moving forward in the line. Work with
the ritualistic work to ensure that their station’s ritual is complete. Work
with officer’s to ensure that they can perform the
work of the station directly above the station they have been elected or appointed to.
Leadership (Continued)
Goal #2:
Revive the Lecture/Charge program.
Action
Plan #2: This is an
area of special interest. This program has to compete with the likes of
new members that can come into lodge and do not have to give back (at their choosing) hardly any ritual work. Create incentive plan that would reward brethren for performing ritual work;
above and beyond the current program of a lecture pin.
Goal
#3:
Recharge the Craft Club involvement into the lodge.
Action
Plan #3: Contact brethren
from our over 200 members and obtain a solid core of 15 brethren that can be the craft club during the MM degree. The craft club members can also be a boost to lodge traveling, community projects
and lodge functions.
Public Relations
Goal
#1:
Inform community of Speaker Nights pertaining to information outside of the Masonic Fraternity.
Action
Plan #2 Place
ad in Madison Press/Madison Messenger informing community of Speaker, place where speaker will be speaking and time
of function. Ensure that at each function that there are snack items provided
for the public and the brethren.
Goal
#2:
Attend City Hall Meetings
Action
Plan #2: Attending City Hall
Meetings will elevate the awareness of Madison Lodge to the community and show the community that Madison Lodge
is a valuable citizen. The temple association owns the building we are in
that contains 3 store fronts. Madison Lodge can be a valued citizen and
should be recognized as such.
Goal
#3:
Attend School Board Meetings
Action
Plan #3: Much like attending
City Hall meetings, attending school board meetings will allow Madison Lodge to be more in touch with the youth
of our community. Also by attending such meetings, our lodge may find some
avenues for “Community Service”.
Community Service
Goal #1:
Adopt-A-Highway
Action
Plan#1: Continue
with the Adopt-A-Highway program. We are a
“Gold Star Group”!
Goal
#2:
Book Fair
Action
Plan #2: Continue our
involvement with the “Book Fair” at our local schools. Increase
our contribution by 10%.
Goal
#3:
School projects
Action
Plan #3: Identify through
the local school a project that Madison Lodge can assist with. In the past,
Madison Lodge has painted fences and picked up playground areas.
Goal
#4:
Christmas in the Park
Action
Plan #4: Assist in the
testing/hanging of lights. The Christmas in the Park committee has approached
Madison lodge in having them research and build an ice
skating rink for the 2005 display.
Goal
#5:
Food Shelter collection
Action
Plan #5: Identify Food
Shelters in our area and identify particular needs. Needs may be obvious
such as food, but other needs may be to educate needy families on where the shelters are and how to use them. Other needs may involve the delivery of food during holiday seasons.
Other Goals
Goal #1:
Widows Night
Action
Plan #1: Organize an
event for our Widows. It has been a long time since we have recognized our
widows. This event will be a sit down dinner either at our lodge or at a
restaurant of reasonable means.
Goal
#2:
Past Master’s Night
Action
Plan #2: Organize an
event for our Past Masters. We too often take them for granted. This event will be a sit down dinner at our lodge with an open forum.
This forum will allow for certain Past Masters to speak and recall memories from the “Good old Days”.
